Sue Wilson

English and History Teacher
Sue WilsonSue Wilson is originally from the Boothbay Harbor, Maine.  She graduated from the University of Maine in 1992 with a B.A. in history and received her teaching certificate in 1993 in secondary social studies. 

After college Sue moved to Crested Butte where she pursued her love of snowboarding and mountain biking.  During this time Sue also worked in the fifth and sixth grades as an educational aide at the Crested Butte Community School.  She returned to Maine in 2001 and spent four years teaching a combined fifth and sixth grade at the Center for Teaching and Learning-a lab school at which research is conducted and practices are developed specifically in the areas of reading and writing workshop as well as approaches to content area reading, writing, and research.

In 2005 Sue and her husband Greg made the decision to move back to Crested Butte and raise their family in the mountain community they missed and loved.  From 2005-2007 Sue helped develop and implement reading and writing workshops while working as a third and fourth grade classroom teacher at Slate River School.  Sue currently teaches English and history in the middle school at Crested Butte Academy.  She lives in CB South with her husband and their two children Finn and Olivia.
