Christian Robertson
Snowboard Coach
Christian was born and raised in Lexington,
KY and moved to Gunnsion,
Colorado to attend Western
State College in 1990. He
graduated in 1994 with a major in Outdoor Education. Throughout school Christian spent as many
days as possible riding his snowboard in Crested Butte. After graduating he spent his summer months
working as an Outward Bound Instructor and Mountain Guide and during the winter
he taught snowboarding in Crested Butte while chasing the dream of becoming a
pro rider. Christian spent 5 years
competing in Snowboardcross events on the Swatch Tour, Vans Triple Crown, Grand
Prix, and raced in the X-Games. He also
did a number of Extreme contests and won the U.S. Extreme Championships in
Crested Butte on 2 occasions. Christian
has ventured to the Great Northwest many times to race in the Legendary Mt.
Baker Banked Slalom and has placed 1st and 2nd in the Pro
Masters division. He has also appeared
in the pages of numerous snowboarding publications, slashing powder and dropping
cliffs at some of the best mountains in the western U.S.,
Canada and Europe. Christian has been coaching with the Crested Butte Academy
since 2000. When the snow melts you may
see Christian racing his mountain bike, riding his motorcycle or just relaxing
in the home he built with his beautiful wife Michelle.
