Wendy Fisher

Raised
in Incline Village, NV. Wendy learned to ski at Squaw Valley at age two. She
attended Burke Mountain Ski Academy in Vermont. A member of the U.S. Ski Team
(1987-'94), she competed in the 1989 & 1990 Junior Worlds and was a member
of the 1992 Olympics in Albertville, France. Wendy earned World Cup points in
each discipline. She won the 1991 U.S. Nationals Overall, which was held in
Crested Butte. Wendy then moved on to have a successful freeskiing and film
career. She won many Extreme Freeskiing competitions, a few being the World Extreme Skiing Championships (1996-'97) and
dominated the tour in 1996, '97 & '98. In 2005, after a 5-year break from
competitions, she entered the US Extreme Freeskiing Championships in
Crested Butte and won. She skied in the XGames, Gravity Games and filmed with
Matchstick Productions and Warren Miller. Wendy was awarded
"Best Female Film Segment" by Powder (2001-'02). She was
also voted by Skiing Magazine as one of the "Best 25 Skiers in North America" (2001). In 2006 Powder
Magazine named her one of the most influential skiers in the past 35 years.
Wendy lives in Mt. Crested Butte, CO with her husband, Woody Lindenmeyr
(Freeride Head Coach) and sons, Aksel and Devin. Wendy is also a member of the
Mt. Crested Butte Town Council.
