Phil Stern
Director of Student Services
Phil is in his third year with the
Academy and in his second year as director of residential life and chairman of
the math department. He came to Crested
Butte from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine where he graduated as a Sarah
and James Bowdoin Scholar and was captain of the men's lacrosse team. Also, he is currently in his first year of a
master's in educational administration program through The George Washington
University. Phil is an avid mountain
biker and skier, and is most commonly seen with his dog, Otis, in tow. Additionally, Phil is passionate about music,
playing several instruments, including guitar, mandolin and piano, and offers
lessons and independent studies for interested students.
