Student Life Program

The Student Life Program at CBA fosters a safe, healthy and respectful school environment through communication and accountability to boundaries for student behavior. As positive contributors to their community, students learn self-respect, integrity, and invaluable social skills. Built on the principals of trust and cooperation, CBA maintains and enforces clear rules and policies that support a safe, healthy and respectful community for all members.

Activities

CBA students are typically very busy with their competition schedules; however, we do offer a full calendar of weekend and evening activities. Activities range from Utah mountain biking trips and rock climbing to cultural excursions and movie nights. For more information see Event Calendar .

Health Services

A nurse is on duty at CBA 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday, and 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and on-call after hours. Physical therapy is also readily available on campus.

Facilities

The only ski-in ski-out academy of its kind in the U.S., Crested Butte Academy is housed in the 265-room Elevation Hotel and Spa at the foot of Mount Crested Butte. Seven high-tech classrooms, our gravity center and the academy's art studio are literally steps from the Silver Queen lift. CBA also utilizes the adjacent 11,000 square foot Performance Center.

All boarding students reside in dormitories at the newly renovated Elevation Hotel and Spa , a four-star resort where buffet or menu style dining is provided. Guest accommodations at Elevation are the perfect blend of convenience and luxury for prospective and short-term students as well as visiting family members.

Community Service

CBA supports the Gunnison Valley and its residents through community service efforts. In coordination with community partners, twice yearly, all staff and students come together to spend the day working on local volunteer projects. The service days are lead by CBA faculty and staff. Additionally, each CBA student is required to perform six hours of community service per year. Students may receive credit for work performed over the summer and in their home communities.

Senior Project

From early May through the end of June, graduating CBA seniors take part in career exploration or community service with an off-campus organization. The Senior Project is an opportunity for students to transition from our school community to the larger world and utilize the skills and knowledge they've gained in the classroom
