Leon Harris
Dean of Students
Leon Harris moved from Australia to take up the position
of Dean of Students at CBA in 2006. He has Bachelor of Arts degree in
Journalism and History, a Bachelor of Laws, a Graduate Diploma of Education and
a Masters Degree in Education, specializing in curriculum and instruction. He practiced
as a commercial lawyer for 10 years, until he took a position as an English and
Legal Studies teacher with a local high school.
He was the co-lead author on a law textbook published in his home state of Queensland in 2007 and has also written articles published in magazines such as Ski Extra and Max in Australia. Leon is a qualified ski instructor, competitive road bike racer and in 2004 represented Australia at the Archery Biathlon World Championships in Pokljuka, Slovenia. He has also climbed extensively in the New Zealand Alps and made the fastest winter ascent for a number of years of Mt Aspiring in 1999.
Leon is married to Sue Bambling, the Athletics Administrator at CBA. They have a two year old daughter Perry who can ski Mt. Crested Butte from the top of the Silver Queen lift already.
